A number of public and private interests give rise to many limitations and exceptions in the Czech copyright law, which have undergone partial harmonization on the EU level. Over the past years, such limitations and exceptions have been subject of public debate. The public calls for easier “access to information” and “access to culture”; oftentimes, this is rather a hidden and intentional effort to be able to access art in a free and easy way and use it free of charge.
