Until December 2013, artists could only use their pseudonyms in relation to their artistic, promotional and marketing activities, but in other contexts (e.g. in contracts) they had to use their official names. The 2014 Civil Code made it possible for the artists to use their pseudonym in some non-artistic contexts (when signing contracts or other deeds or documents) provided that there is no doubt as to their identity. In official and administrative contexts (before public authorities under private and public law legislation), the artists must use their real name and surname.
