A complete application including supporting documents may shorten the visa application process and you may thus prevent delays that occur when supplementary information has to be requested. By failing to complete all the formalities you face the risk that your application will be turned down as unacceptable.
It is advisable to factor in sufficient time for the visa application process before the planned trip.
- ONLINE PLANNING OF MEETINGS AT EMBASSIES AND CONSULATES AND ONLINE SUBMISSION OF VISA APPLICATION
The system of online registration of applicants for residence permits (VISAPOINT) for stays in the Czech Republic allows you to arrange the appointment at the embassy or consulate in advance. The form is available in different languages. - VISA AGENCIES AND VISA APPLICATION PROCESSING TIMES
Some consulates outsource the visa process to agencies as external service providers. Such visa centres offer greater convenience and flexibility during the visa application process. This does not, however, apply to all types of visas. - CONSULAR PROTECTION OF EU CITIZENS IN SOME EU MEMBER STATES
All EU citizens who are in a non-EU country in which their home country does not have a consulate have the right to protection by the embassy or consulate of any other EU Member State. - POLICE REGISTRATION
Some countries (e.g. the People’s Republic of China) require police registration for extended stays. If you stay in a hotel, the hotel takes care of the registration process, but if you are accommodated in a private flat, you have to handle any registration requirements personally. - TRAVEL AND SAFETY TIPS OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC
The website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contains travel and safety tips and requirements for Czech travellers sorted by country.
These include current medical information, general travel information, entry and exit requirements, special customs regulations, warnings, etc.
When travelling abroad it is possible to register voluntarily at the ministry’s website https://drozd.mzv.cz/, which enables to organise aid to Czech citizens who provide information on their planned stay abroad in advance. - CONSULTATION OFFICES AND ONLINE INFORMATION ON VISA ISSUES IN EU COUNTRIES
Individual EU countries offer initiatives and art organisations for non-binding consultations regarding specific issues concerning the application of the 2009 Visa Code and publish practical information on these issues. The list of some offices can be found here.
TRANSIT VISA
- 72 HOURS VISA-FREE TRANSIT STAY IN THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA
For travellers from the Czech Republic and all countries of the Schengen Area, a three-day visa-free stay in China is possible in: Beijing, Shanghai, Canton (Guangzhou), Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, and Shenyang. Requirements for such stay be found here. - THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Citizens of the Czech Republic need a transit visa. An exception from this requirement is a situation where the passenger does not leave the transit area of an international airport in the Russian Federation (he/she must be able to produce an air ticket proving that he/she has a connecting flight to a third country, and documents required for the entry into the destination country are checked as well). However, if you continue to travel from another airport in the same city, you will need a Russian visa. If you depart from the same airport, you should check whether you do not leave the transit area when going to another terminal, for which you would also need a visa. - AUSTRALIA
A transit visa is not required if the Czech citizen has an air ticket for a flight from Australia, does not leave the transit area of the airport and his/her departure takes place within eight hours from the arrival. (Documents required for entry into the destination country are checked as well.)
The visa requirement for transit via Australia to third countries remains in force if the length of the stay in the airport transit area exceeds the eight-hour limit. The transit visa entitles the applicant to stay in Australia for a period not exceeding 72 hours during transit via Australia to another country and it is granted free of charge. - ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
